Survey
Challenge:
Ford's sponsorship of Race for the Cure wasn't
being pushed on the local market as much as they
wanted it to be. Ford is one of RFTC's predominant
sponsors.
Solution:
Create a minisite for each market across the USA
that had local content. Content that included
resources, personal experience, portraits, and
information about Breast Cancer.
Initially
we developed a survey that was posted on all local
online newspaper sites. Questions were asked to
gauge the awareness in the market of the Ford
Event. Statistics showed that Ford or the RFTC
was not an event people were aware of. There fore
we needed to devise a marketing solution that
would create awareness.
We
built a strong ad banner campaign such as "Every
12 minutes... a woman dies of Breast Cancer" and
"Northeast Ohio families can help make a difference."
The Media buy were run in the local market newspapers
sites. Banner campaigns were directed to the minisite
we developed.
During
this campaign, we created a print campaign such
as postcards and posters. These were sent to local
dealers, laundry mats, grocery stores, and mini-markets.
On
the day of the event we had a writer and photographer
on scene to interview the volunteers and got some
personal experience stories. We then posted those
pictures on the site.
Results:
"Ford is one of our most supportive sponsors,
they've really done some wonderful things"
Peggy Helsel, RFTC Chairman
