Staying in Playa is a relaxing get away... but if you have a travel bug and some time.. i recommend seeing some of the most beautiful country in the world.

Days 1-5: Fly into Cancun Airport, take shuttle to Playa Del Carmen, Shangri La Resort, go diving, snorkeling, wind sailing, swimming, sunbathing, and shopping. Go to Heather and Johns wedding Jan 27th. Take a ferry out Cozumel or a collectivo to Tulum, more white sand, amazing ruins...
Days 6-7:

Go go Isla Muejers (island of ladies), take bus to Cancun and asked to be dropped off at the ferry. There are limited ferry rides, so you should find out schedule before hand. Last ferry I believe is at 7pm. I rented a hotel room $50 USD and stayed the night. Enjoy great food, beaufitul culture and beaches. Visit more about this place http://www.islamujeresonline.com.mx/

Days 8-9:

Take a bus or rent a car. Merida, a city of about 1 million people, is a wonderful mixture of colonial city and cosmopolitan destination. The famous Mayan pyramids of Chichen-Itza are over 1500 years old and are located only 75 miles from Merida. The name Chichen-Itza is a Mayan word: CHI (mouth) CHEN (well) and ITZA (of the Itza tribe). As the most famous of the Mayan pyramids on the Yucatan peninsula, Chichen Itza has been studied extensively and is the most popular Mayan ruin in Mexico. Much has been written about it. Below are some links to websites with in-depth information about the history of the site. Try to visit Chichen Itza early in the morning or late in the afternoon, as the sun can be punishing at midday. The main attraction is the central pyramid, El Castillo del Serpiente Emplumado. Nestled in the heart of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, guests staying in Playa del Carmen vacation rentals are usually robbed; their hearts are stolen and held captive by the cerulean blue waters that bathe their spirits in its beauty. Before 1974 there wasn’t much to say about Playa del Carmen. It was an undeveloped territory of Mexico that once housed a historic Mayan empire. Once the Mexican government allowed development for tourism the town became an eclectic blend of a rustic fishing village and a playground for European expatriates lured by the Mexican Caribbean. Now tourists flock to Playa del Carmen vacation rentals to relax while staying in either luxurious Playa del Carmen villas or tucked into the heart of the town in Playa del Carmen condos.

For those who stay in Playa del Carmen condo rentals, they’re surrounded by funky shops, trendy bars and bustling restaurants. The warm waters, gentle surf, coral reefs and laid-back lifestyle lure those who opt to stay tucked away in Playa del Carmen villas along the crystal blue coasts. Wherever guests of Playa del Carmen vacation rentals choose to stay, they must explore the historic Mayan ruins of Tulum and Punta Tanchate (originally called Xaman-Ha), which is a living tribute to the rich history of the ancient past.

No matter how hectic the life you left behind is, when you step into Playa del Carmen condos or villas, the town’s laid-back atmosphere relaxes you. Vacationhomes.com offers unparalleled access to the variety of Playa del Carmen condo rentals and Playa del Carmen villas. Every listing has been combed through to ensure that your time at Playa del Carmen vacation rentals allows you to relish in the town’s tranquility.
